China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) is the sole national investment promotion activity in China which is devoted to attracting foreign direct investment. At present, it is the largest economic and trade activity which concentrates on the attraction of foreign investment and trading of products made by foreign-funded enterprises. CIFIT grew out of Fujian Fair for International Investment & Trade (FFIIT), which were held for ten successive years between 1987 and 1996. With the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (Moftec) of the People's Republic of China, FFIIT was promoted officially to CIFIT in January 1997. Because of its unique advantages in attracting foreign enterprises and investment, CIFIT has aroused great interest and attention from investors, business people, economic institutions and intermediaries worldwide.
