7 Days Qinghai Tongren June Festival Tour

You can start your own tours at anytime as you like. Daily Itinerary

Day 1 6th July
Xining
Arrival in Xining, capital of Qinghai Province. Also known to be a major stopping point on the ancient Silk Road. Therefore, Xining becomes a historically significant city worthy of some reflection. Upon arrival, your private tour guide and driver will pick you up from the airport to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of day at your leisure.

Day 2 7th July
Xining/Huzhu/Ganchankou/Menyuan/Datong/Repkong (B/L/D)
After breakfast at hotel, journey starts from Xining to Menyuan, the land of rape flowers. Driving from Huzhu to Menyuan via Ganchankou township, enjoy driving on the 12-twisting mountain road which is called “Shierpan”. Upon arrival in Menyuan, enjoy the famous area of the Golden Rape Flowers. The Menyuan rape flower fields are famous for their bright yellow rape flower fields that come into bloom in late spring. In that time, the annual Rape Flower Festival will be held in Menyuan. After that, we will back to Xining. Then we will drive through the beautiful Huangshui valley and Qingshashan Tunnel to Repkong (Tongren).

Day 3 8th July
Tongren(Repkong) (B/L/D)
Today we will drive through the beautiful Huangshui valley and Qingshashan Tunnel to Repkong (Tongren). You will see unique landscape dotted with Tibetan, Chinese and Muslim villages where the farmers are immersed in a festival mood. Repkong is a charming Tibetan town with several monasteries in the immediate vicinity. Repkong is known to be the learning center for Tibetan Tangkha painting and the famous artists of this area are commissioned as far away as Lhasa and Shenyang in China, India, Burma and Mongolia to produce frescos and Thangkas for the most important monasteries.

Day 4 9th July
Tongren Shaman Festival (B/L/D)
After breakfast at hotel, we are going to attend the Repkong Shaman Festival. Today we will firstly drive to the Tibetan village by the name of "Siheji" to see the festival activities such as offering sacrifices to deities, inviting deities, welcoming deities, dancing for deities, and above all, enjoy the unique military dancing performance. The June Festival will be held in scores of Tibetan and Tu villages along the Wutun River basin. In addition participating the crowds at Siheji village, we will enjoy military dancing at Gomargar and Gashari village.

Day 5 10th July
Tongren/Kumbum Monastery/Xining/Huzhu (B/L/D)
Start from Tongren after breakfast, today we are heading to Kumbum Monastery, one of the 6 largest Gelukpa monasteries in Tibet. Followed by driving to Huzhu from expressway, Huzhu is the only Tu autonomous county of China. The largest barley wine factory is located in the center of the county. We will visit the factory to discover the procedure of its making and taste the different wine. Afterwards, we drive to Tu minority Ethnic custom village to enjoy the show to get to know the deep history of this country. Having typical dinner to taste the local food such as roasted lamb, grilled legs of lamb, Tu style pancake, deep fried chicken and enjoy the drink of local barley wine.

Day 6 11st July
Huzhu departure (B )
Wake up naturally and check out the hotel according to your flight time, the check out time from hotel must be 2.5 hours before the departure time of your flight. The guide and driver will send you to Xining airport and help you to Check in. Take the flight to next destination.
