Hong Kong Disneyland Opens
2010-11-29 10:20:58

The Hong Kong Disneyland celebrated its grand opening on 12th September. It is the fifth one in the world and the second in Asia next to the one in Japan.

Occupying an area of 126 hectare, Hong Kong Disneyland is located on the lush Lantau Island, just 30 minutes away by subway from bustling centre of Hong Kong. It looks much like the first Disneyland in California, with a Space Mountain thrill ride, a classic Cinderella Carousel and Sleeping Beauty Castle - which Disney predicts will be one of the most photographed buildings in Asia. It consists of two resort hotels and one theme park that is sub-divided into five parts: Plaza, Mainstreet USA, Adventureland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.

It is regarded as a wondrous world of exciting and enchanting lands, where imagination will fly with strong wings. The moment you step into the world you will enjoy timeless tales and bold adventures in fun-filled attractions as dreams are magically brought to life.

The opening of the Disneyland ushers in a new era of Disney magic and is a great incentive to the island's tourism industry. It is anticipated that the number of tourists to it will hit a record high in the coming years
