As the first high-speed passenger railway in western China, Zhengzhou-Xi’an high-speed rail was opened to the public on February 6th, 2010. The railway has a total distance of 505 kilometers (314 miles). The bullet trains run at a thrilling speed of 352 kilometers (219 miles) per hour. After the launch of this new high-speed railway, it is possible to run from Zhengzhou to Xi’an from one hour and 48 minutes instead of the previous six hours.
There are a total number of 14 trains running between Zhouzheng and Xi’an every day, and tourists are able to obtain a first-class ticket for 390 yuan, and a second-class for 240 yuan.
