The Largest Ancient Ceramic Site in North Shaanxi Has Been Discovered in Fugu County

An ancient ceramic site which covers an area of about 200,000 square kilometers has been discovered during the national survey of cultural relics in Fugu County. And this is the largest ancient ceramic discovered in North Shaanxi ever since.

The newly-found ancient ceramic site lies in Ciyaogou Country, Haizemiao Village of Fugu County. Through the investigation, the experts preliminary judge this ceramic chip---intensive site belongs to the period of Jin, Song and Yuan Dynasty of ancient China.

Located in North Shaanxi, Fugu County borders upon Shanxi Province and possesses a long history which may trace back to the Neolithic Age. 1521 culture relics in Fugu County have been discovered and the newly-discovered ceramic cultural relics include 19 ancient city cites, 30 ancient buildings, 26 ancient tombs, 2 ancient residences, 2 ancient fossil locations, 10 grottos and 17 ancient carved stones and so on, all of which have provided reliable basis for potential study about ancient ceramics of Fugu County. In addition, a large amount of Yangshao cultural relics of the Neolithic Age has been discovered as well, which mainly include red potteries and colored potteries.

The discovery of ancient ceramic sites in Fugu County has not only filled the blank of the previous study about the ancient culture of Fugu County, but also has provided strong physical evidence for the later study of the culture in North Shaanxi
